PowerPoint Databases

Problem: Many high volume production departments spend a lot of time recreating identical or similar PowerPoint pages over and over because it is difficult to find existing pages in the myriad of presentations that have been created. Or if they are indeed found, often there are multiple versions of the same page, some of which inevitably have incorrect data.

Some departments have hired full time librarians to help catalogue existing presentations to help them find and retrieve existing pages and that also has its expenses attached to the problem.

Solution: Reillyand, Inc. which has extensive programming experience both in PowerPoint and in databases is in the process of creating a highly automated database application that will catalogue existing presentations and allow the user to search the entire database for individual or multiple presentations, or pages across presentations that match flexible criteria. These results can either be reassembled automatically into a new presentation. This reassembling of the pages goes beyond the typical copying and pasting method  practiced; it also allows the slide to be rebuilt from the raw data content, whether that be the words on the page, or even the data that make up a MS Graph or Excel chart.

This PowerPoint database solution is currently in an advanced stage of development and should be available in 2nd Quarter of 2001. For more information, please contact Brian Reilly by clicking the email link at the bottom of this page.
